Join us for an exciting showcase of our Summer Art Camp program! Experience hands on art activities while meeting our expert instructors (Broward County Art Teachers). Get a look at the fun art projects and activities happening all summer.
Each week is a new adventure with themed projects in a variety of media from ceramics, drawing, painting & mixed media. Experience the museum’s galleries, visiting artists, movie theater days, shopping days, costume/dress-up days and more!
Session 1: June 12-16, Animal Adventures
Embark on a thrilling journey through the animal kingdom. Let your creativity soar with Henri Rousseau Jungle landscapes and Lion King inspired masks. It will be a roaring good time.
Session 2: June 19-23, Rock the Decades!
Travel through time as you explore various time periods through a kaleidoscope of art, design, and pop culture. From the roaring 20’s to the swinging 60’s, and all the way to modern-day, this week of camp will take you on a colorful adventure through the decades.
Session 3: June 26-30, Mario Madness!
Level Up this Summer with everyone’s favorite video game hero. Design new levels and power-ups, sculpt fire flowers and mushroom-out with a Toad hat. This week is sure to be Super fun.
Session 4: July 3-7 (No Camp on July 4th), Season Switch
When the summer sun seems too hot to handle, it’s time for a Season Switch. Paint snowmen in summer, decorate gingerbread houses, and fashion the coolest hot cocoa mug ever! It may be hot outside but your projects will be COOL!!!
Session 5: July 10-14, Street Art
Take your art from the studio to the streets using stencils, graffiti, and other urban-inspired techniques. Fl Mingo, Drip and Atomic will all be your guides to creating one-of-a-kind pieces. So, grab your tools and get ready to make your mark with Street Art!
Session 6: July 17-21, Kawaii Coolness
OMG SOO KAWAII! Get your cuteness on when you learn the secrets to creating super cute characters. Explore the Kawaii culture of Japan and see how simple being cute can be.
Session 7: July 24-28, Mystery at the Museum
Grab your paintbrush and let’s Gogh! Unearth dinosaur fossils, and follow the clues on an exciting scavenger hunt. Discover the secrets hidden in Van Gogh’s room and shed some light on the Impressionists.
Session 8: July 31-August 4, Summer Avengers
Artist Assemble! From shields to super suits this week has everything you need to join an all-star team of super hero artists! Construct super accessories for your team and design the ultimate ride to save the Universe.
Session 9: August 7-11, Fantasy, Fairies & Fables
Slay the Summer with dragons, wizards and fairies. Sculpt a dragon’s eye, and conjure a book of stories. Illuminate your manuscript with an enchanting letter and bring your favorite mythical creature to life.
Session 10: August 14-18, Yum! Yum! Art!
Who’s Hungry? Chow down on some of our favorite food-based art. Scream for Ice Cream with Mindy Shrago and paint a delicious still life a la Wayne Thiebaud.

Discover the processes of sculpture utilizing a variety of media including clay, wood, plaster, and paper to construct three-dimensional masterpieces!
Session 1: August 7-11
Explore how to use found objects, clay and Paper Mache to create 3D masterpieces. Get vertical with totems inspired by Sally Russell and use the most mundane object to form wild creations inspired by Tara Donovan.

Campers will design digital sketch books, characters, paintings, special effects, animations and more on the iPad and incorporate new techniques and applications to perfect your digital creations.
Session 1: June 26-30, Dynamic Digital Drawing and Animation
Bring characters to life as you perfect your drawing skills and learn digital tricks of the trade. This session is 50% sketchbook, 50% iPad and 100% FUN!
Session 2: July 17-21, Creating Cool Comics
Create a phenomenal comic book by blending traditional, digital and comic drawing techniques. Have fun sharing your comics with friends and family.
Session 3: July 24-28, A League of Your Own
Develop the perfect SUPERHERO team and the maniacal Villains!! As they work together to fight against evil and save the day!

Session 1: July 10-14, I’m Impressed
Join Monet, Cassatt, Degas and the rest of the Impressionists as you shed some light on one of History’s most loved art movements. Discover the secrets of light and movement as you paint landscapes and figures to your heart’s content.
Session 2: July 24-28, Color Chaos
Take color theory to a whole new level. Go wild with Matisse and the Fauvists for a pigmented portrait, Boogie-Woogie with Mondrian and get monochromatic with O’Keeffe.

Session 1: June 26-30, Pop N’ to Pop Art
Let Andy, Roy and Clause be your guides as you discover how Popin’ Pop Art can be. From lino prints to ink drawings this week will have you on the edge of your comic strip.
Session 2: July 17-21, Sketch-A-Thon
Sharpen your skills and build those drawing muscles using graphite, charcoal and pastels. Figures, still lives and self-portraits lay on the horizon for this artistic experiment designed to shake up your style.

YAA’s Camp Exhibition highlights the work created by each artist from our camp at the end of every session. Come celebrate the creativity and talent of our artists with family and friends!
All instructors are Art Educators in the Broward school system, CARD trained by UM-NSU CARD (Center for Autism and Related Disabilities), and Conscious Discipline trained. Build your self-Confidence. Our summer team of instructors will take the time to coach each student to reach their fullest potential in a nurturing and safe environment.
Learning Art should be FUN! We emphasize creativity, engagement, and finding your unique style. Our philosophy: Everyone is an artist and there are no mistakes in art.
Looking for something different this summer? Young At Art Camp focuses on engaging themes, each week new artists, media, and techniques are introduced in fun and innovative ways. Our multifaceted camp offers students the ability to stay active, build skills & interests all while having fun and making new friends!
Teaching Drawing, Painting, and Sculpture Camp (Ages 9-15)
I am the Art Teacher for Discovery Elementary School. I am also a Young At Art Museum art class instructor for Painting & Drawing and worked as the Lead Art Educator at YAA for over two decades.
One of my favorite artists is Salvador Dali.
I love photography and clay.
I’m looking forward to having fun and making art with my up-and-coming artists! It’s going to be colorful and we will slay all summer!
Teaching Digital Art and Video Game Design Camp (Ages 9-15)
I was once an art student at YAA, I am now currently finishing up my last year at FAU with a BFA in Studio Art and Minor in Digital Marketing. I also run my own art business called Hailee’s Corner! I sell my art at events.
My favorite artist is Steven Thompson, one of the creative heads at Disney.
I am looking forward to meeting all of the cool campers this summer and making some really awesome art with them
Teaching Art Exploration Camp (Ages 5-7)
I work with Everglades High School as an Art Instructor for special needs students.
My favorite artists are both Indian artists, Sayed Haider Raza and Raja Ravi Varma.
My favorite forms of art are painting, drawing, mix media, and Henna art.
I am very excited for Summer Art Camp. I can’t wait to work with my little learners in developing the interest to learn a verity of art to become great artists. It will be an art-filled summer full of fun!

I am the Art Teacher for Rock Island Elementary, for 7 years now I’ve been sharing my love of art with the Rock Island Elementary Students.
My favorite artist is Frida Khalo, art movement is Surrealism, and form of art is Abstract.
I’m excited for Dress Up Days, I’m ready to bring it, and can’t wait to see the campers looks! Also painting, getting messy while making art!

I used to go to YAA as a camper and now I’m in College at SCAD majoring in Illustration.
Miyuli is my favorite artist and I mainly use digital art forms.
I’m most excited to working with kids, teach them art, and watch their creations evolve over the summer!
