Each week is a new adventure with themed projects in a variety of media from ceramics, drawing, painting & mixed media. Experience the museum’s galleries, visiting artists, movie theater days, shopping days, costume/dress-up days and more!
Session 1: June 13-17 | Playful Puppets |Get creative as you design recycled marionettes, shadow puppets, and more inspired by Pablo Cano. Round out the week with a dynamic puppet show for your family.
Session 2: June 20-24 | Wearable Art | Rep your style this week as you tie dye t-shirts, graffiti baseball caps, motif fanny packs and more. This week have an eye for design!
Session 3: June 27– July 1 | Cultural Connections | It’s a fun-filled week as we explore African, Latin, Asian and Indigenous American cultures through art. Delve into tapestries, painting, and sculptures galore.
Session 4: July 5—8 | Circus Like Calder | Lions and tigers and bears oh my! Construct circus characters using clay, found objects, wire and fabric to entertain your fans. Imagination is the only tool you’ll need .
Session 5: July 11-15 | S.T.E.A.M. | What do you get when you mix science with ART?! Amazing creations of slime, hidden imagery, and pendulum painting to name a few. Explore science the best way… through art!
Session 6: July 18-22 | Doodles, Cartoons and Comics | Draw out and sketch simple characters and learn the 5 styles of Doodling to create a fun comic book, painting and clay character.
Session 7: July 25-29 | Kinetic Art | This week, art is on the move! Invent art mobiles, choreograph painted dance steps like Warhol, compose wind chimes, and more.
Session 8: August 1-5 | Color Week | Have fun exploring a world of color as you, collage complementary compositions, paint color field paintings, and build monochromatic wood sculptures a la Louise Nevelson.
Session 9: August 8-12 | Kawaii Characters | Jet set to Japan and enter the world of anime. Create colorful stylized chibi characters using paint, clay, mixed media and more!

Unleash your imagination while learning how to compose unique paintings using color and new techniques to paint self-portraits, landscapes and more.
Session 1: July 11 – 15 | Me, Myself & I | Celebrate what makes you special through painted self portraits, dream journals, and graphitized name plates. This week you are your favorite subject.
Session 2: July 25 – 29 | Picture it! | It’s all about perspective with a birds eye view painting, macro oil pastel flower drawings like O’ Keefe, and block printed illustrations to give you a new perspective!
Use classical techniques as you draw still-lifes, landscapes, self-portraits and more. Sharpen your drawing skills using charcoal, pen & ink, chalk and oil pastels.
Session 1: June 27– July 1 | So Surreal | Create a dream world of tessellated drawings inspired by Escher, pen and ink bugs in the style of Dali, and self-portraits inspired by Kahlo.
Session 2: July 18 – 22 | Illustrated Images | Personify your favorite characters as you learn drawing and printmaking techniques using graphite, pencils, markers, and charcoal.
Discover the processes of sculpture utilizing a variety of media including clay, wood, plaster, and paper to construct three-dimensional masterpieces!
Session 1: August 1 – 5 | Build It! | Mold clay, shape plaster, assemble wood and discover 3 dimensional art in a whole new way.
YAA’s Camp Exhibition highlights the work created by each artist from our camp at the end of every session. Come celebrate the creativity and talent of our artists with family and friends!
All instructors are Art Educators in the Broward school system, CARD trained by UM-NSU CARD (Center for Autism and Related Disabilities), and Conscious Discipline trained. Build your self-Confidence. Our summer team of instructors will take the time to coach each student to reach their fullest potential in a nurturing and safe environment.

Looking for something different this summer? Young At Art Camp focuses on engaging themes, each week new artists, media, and techniques are introduced in fun and innovative ways. Our multifaceted camp offers students the ability to stay active, build skills & interests all while having fun and making new friends!
Water bottle, morning snack, and afternoon snack (goldfish, animal crackers, chips, and/or pretzels) is included with meal purchase.

Summer Art Camp will be held in two private spaces within the Broward Mall YAA Fun Zone & YAA Workshop Studio.
YAA Fun Zone is located next to Code Ninjas, near JC Penny’s and The Regal Theater.
YAA Workshop Studio is located north of Dillard’s and YAA’s Main Museum, next to LensCrafters.
