Join us for an exciting showcase of our Summer Art Camp program! Experience hands on art activities while meeting our expert instructors (Broward County Art Teachers). Get a look at the fun art projects and activities happening all summer.
Session 1: June 11-14, Aloha Summer
Grab your gear and get ready to kick off a great Summer. Design your own shirt, hat and umbrella while kicking back on the beach of your dreams.
Session 2: June 17-21, Art of Asia
Find inner peace and amazing art with the dragon warrior in this China inspired week. Explore the Chinese zodiac, sculpt a terracotta warrior and brush paint a Chinese landscape on a scroll.
Session 3: June 24-28, Art-O-Licious
Art almost good enough to eat…Sculpt a perfect popsicle inspired by Stanford Slutsky and customize your Pizza portrait with Manny Cartoon.
Session 4: July 1-5 (No Camp on July 4th), Max Americana
Dive into the Artwork of American icons Peter Max and Jasper Johns. Choose 1 day or all four days of this star-spangled week. No camp July 4th.
Session 5: July 8-12, Minion Monomania
We’re going crazy for minions. Join the gang as you paint a self-portrait as a Minion, and design a new rocket car for our cool yellow friends. This week is sure to be banana-rific.
Session 6: July 15-19, Heroes and Villains
Explore the light and dark of comics as you delve into the world of Heroes and Villains. Design a sinister (or heroic) lair and sculpt the coolest hero (or get-away) car. Whether you prefer to be a hero or a villain this week will blow your mind.
Session 7: July 22-26, Art-O-lympics 2024
Go for the Gold while you sculpt and paint olympic history. Commemorate new events with epic designs, and draw yourself as a star athlete.
Session 8: July 29-August 2, So Much Kawaii!!
IT’S SO CUTE!! The cuteness overload continues this summer as we dive into this adorable Japanese trend. Collage the cutest animal friend, chibi yourself and design the cutest bubble tea ever.
Session 9: August 5-9, Into the Art-i-Verse
Space may be the final frontier but it is just the beginning. Design your own alien landscape and sculpt a fantastical rocket to carry you across the stars. This week will be out of this world.

Self Reflection
Take your self portrait to a new level as you experiment with graphite, charcoal and pastels.
Painting – Session 2: July 15-19
Expression State of Mind
Explore the Expressionism moment with Van Gogh, Pollack and Basquiat. Bend and color reality the way you see it as you learn painting techniques in Acrylic, Tempera and watercolor.
Sculpture – Session 3: July 22-26
Very Vertical
No flat art here!! Discover how to give your art form and function as you work with plaster, cardboard and found objects. Make a marvelous marionette inspired by Pablo Cano and impossible animals inspired by Salvador Dali.
Drawing – Session 4: July 29-Aug 2
Perfectly Patterned
Explore the world of op art, mandalas, tessellations and cross hatching.

Teaching Drawing, Painting, and Sculpture Camp (Ages 9-15)
I am the Art Teacher for Discovery Elementary School. I am also a Young At Art Museum art class instructor for Painting & Drawing and worked as the Lead Art Educator at YAA for over two decades.
One of my favorite artists is Salvador Dali.
I love photography and clay.
I’m looking forward to having fun and making art with my up-and-coming artists! It’s going to be colorful and we will slay all summer!
Teaching Digital Art (Ages 9-15)
I used to go to YAA as a camper and now I’m in College at SCAD majoring in Illustration.
Miyuli is my favorite artist and I mainly use digital art forms.
I’m most excited to working with kids, teach them art, and watch their creations evolve over the summer!
Camp Director
I am the Art Teacher for Rock Island Elementary, for 7 years now I’ve been sharing my love of art with the Rock Island Elementary Students.
My favorite artist is Frida Khalo, art movement is Surrealism, and form of art is Abstract.
I’m excited for Dress Up Days, I’m ready to bring it, and can’t wait to see the campers looks! Also painting, getting messy while making art!
Teaching Art Exploration Camp (Ages 5-7)
I work with Everglades High School as an Art Instructor for special needs students.
My favorite artists are both Indian artists, Sayed Haider Raza and Raja Ravi Varma.
My favorite forms of art are painting, drawing, mix media, and Henna art.
I am very excited for Summer Art Camp. I can’t wait to work with my little learners in developing the interest to learn a verity of art to become great artists. It will be an art-filled summer full of fun!
Teaching Digital Art (Ages 9-15)
I was once an art student at YAA, I am now currently finishing up my last year at FAU with a BFA in Studio Art and Minor in Digital Marketing. I also run my own art business called Hailee’s Corner! I sell my art at events.
My favorite artist is Steven Thompson, one of the creative heads at Disney.
I am looking forward to meeting all of the cool campers this summer and making some really awesome art with them
Summer Art Camp will be held in a private space within the Broward Mall next to YAA FUN ZONE (admin offices).
YAA CAMP ZONEF is located next to JCPenney and across from Regal Theater.
YAA’s Camp Exhibition highlights the work created by each artist from our camp at the end of every session. Come celebrate the creativity and talent of our artists with family and friends!
All instructors are Art Educators in the Broward school system, CARD trained by UM-NSU CARD (Center for Autism and Related Disabilities), and Conscious Discipline trained. Build your self-Confidence. Our summer team of instructors will take the time to coach each student to reach their fullest potential in a nurturing and safe environment.
Learning Art should be FUN! We emphasize creativity, engagement, and finding your unique style. Our philosophy: Everyone is an artist and there are no mistakes in art.
